We left the house just before 3:30 AM to beat the traffic through Chicago. About 2 and a half hours and $6.00 in tolls later we were in Indiana.
We got to see the sunrise on the windy city.
Seven hours later we were in Nashville. Music City. Only one stop for gas and bio break. Kiki was a champ. 616 miles and the longest driving day of the trip is over. No 1000 mile marathons this time thank goodness.
Beautiful weather for driving.
We checked in to the hotel and heard. "Mr Turk, we upgraded you to a Junior Suite, thanks for your loyalty blah, blah blah." "However, it is not ready yet"
Perfect, we need to eat some lunch anyway. Foursquare, Yelp and TripAdvisor all said The Pharmacy for a burger and so we did. Great burgers, nice buns, tater tots and a nice assortment of beverages.
We ate and the hotel called. The room was ready. Boom. Largest single bedroom hotel room I have ever stayed in. 800 square foot at least. This is the best trip evar! too bad we are only here one night.
So we are relaxing, getting ready and will take a shuttle to downtown a little later tonight. Check out the sights and sounds of Nashville proper.
